Ashikaga Yoshimasa (20 ene 1436 año – 27 ene 1490 año)

Descripción:

Yoshimasa was born to Ashikaga Yoshinori and Hino Shigeko. His children were Yoshikisa and Yoshitane, and his spouse was Hino Tomiko.

Yoshimasa is one of the strongest patrons of virtually every traditional Japanese cultural form that was flowering during this period.

Yoshimasa practiced Pure Land Buddhism where the focus is on subtle, simple, and understated art forms. He favored the rikkya ("standing") style of carefully arranging a few flowers in the floral displays in his palace. He also participated in the chanoyu (tea ceremonies). He was most devoted to the noh theater and was involved with it his entire life. When he was shogun he issued a proclamation identifying noh to be "the music of the state".
