Kingdom of Israel (Samaria) (1 ene 930 año aC – 1 ene 720 año aC)
Descripción:
The Kingdom of Israel, also called the Kingdom of Samaria, was an Israelite kingdom in the Southern Levant during the Iron Age, dating back to the first half of the 10th century BCE. It controlled Samaria, Galilee, and parts of Transjordan, with its capital initially in Shechem, then in Tirzah. Ruled by the Omride dynasty in the 9th century BCE, Samaria served as its political center. While the Hebrew Bible portrays Israel as a successor to the United Kingdom of Israel under David and Solomon, many historians and archaeologists question the Bible's depiction of a unified kingdom. Assyria conquered Israel around 720 BCE, deporting a significant portion of its population and leading to the formation of the idea of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. Some Israelites migrated to Judah, while those remaining in Samaria became known as Samaritans. Assyria also resettled foreign groups in the conquered territories.
