The Korean War began and 75,000 soldiers from North Korea crossed the 38th parallel and invaded South Korea. U.S troops later entered the war with South Korea. The United States officials called it a war against communism. North Korean fought back and forth across the 38th parallel against South Korea and the United States. The fighting started to cease and casualties began to rise. In July of 1953, the war came to an end and 5 million civilians and soldiers had died.
