In c. 1872 BC, Sin-Kashid retook control over Uruk, establishing the 6th dynasty. The dynasty fell to Hammurabi of Babylon c. 1780 BC.

A number of kings ruled during this time, though where exact they are located within history is difficult. These kings include:
- Sin-Kashid
- Sin-Eribam
- Sin-Gamil
- Anam
- Irdanene
- Rin-Anum
- Nabi-Ilishu
