Chancellor Aarav Kulkarni was a reactionary politician whose ascent into office was largely due to the unpopularity of his predecessor Chancellor Buhari. The former Pilot and Admiral focused on financing humanity's defensive fleet and researching new breakthroughs in military technology, a move that became even more popular following first contact with the Old Covenant. He would resign in 2220 to personally oversee humanity's fleet command, believing humanity's only chance of winning required him commanding from the front lines. This move was largely symbolic, since his two terms would run their course in a matter of months from that point.
