The first gold rush started when someone in NSW found flecks of gold near a waterhole, and someone else soon found more in Victoria. This triggered a massive gold rush. The gold rush was one of the biggest gold rushes in history! It attracted diggers from other parts of Australia, Great Brittan, Poland, China, Germany, and parts of California.
