Descripción:
Early Space Age
This period was characterized by early human forays into space, stretching from Sputnik and the first human spaceflights and moonwalks in the 1960's to the first launches of the International Space Station in 1998. On earth this era would be characterized by advances in analogue technologies such as television, radio, and analogue computing. By the era's end would come the earliest instances of digital technology, with the internet opened to the public in the late 1990's. During this era humanity would become geopolitically Bi-polar, with the two "Superpowers" of the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics controlling large and powerful regions of the earth. This balance would dissipate with the eventual dissolution of the USSR in 1989. This political era was known as the "Cold War Era".
