The Satrap of Bactria (1 ene 541 año aC – 1 ene 330 año aC)

Descripción:

Before the Achaemenid conquest of Central Asia, the Selaiki people lived in isolation, spoken of only in folk legends. However, everything changed with the arrival of the Achaemenid Empire. The city of Selga did not resist the conquest but instead opened its gates to join the empire. This decision aimed to expand their trade routes and establish political ties while seeking protection from continued attacks by nomadic steppe peoples. The Achaemenids merged Selga with the Persian satrap of Bactria, which brought many advantages to the Selaiki people, particularly to Selga which became a wealthy city to the Sattrape. This assimilation made them known worldwide, and they were recruited as skilled merchants and mercenaries. As a result, the Selaiki people inhabited smaller enclaves within human cities and lands, and even with the royal courts.
