Descripción:
Flavius Julius Chromatius.
Chromatius was born in the first half of the fourth century , perhaps in Aquileia or in Spain, and already at a young age he had become a monk and had as a disciple Heliodorus , the future bishop of Altino . He is mentioned for the first time in the acts of the council of Aquileia in 381 , where he had made himself known for his profound theological erudition.
Chromatius was made bishop of Aquileia after the death of Valerian in December 388 or January 389 .
In 389 he consecrated the new church of Concordia , placed the relics of the holy Apostles there and consecrated the first bishop of the city.
