US Supported Regime Changes in Latin America (1 ene 1952 año – 1 ene 1995 año)
Descripción:
In 1952, america kicked off its new imperialist venture into Latin America with Operation Fortune, in which the United States supported a fascist military coup in Guatemala. However, in 1961 fascist military dictator of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo was assassinated by American-Supplied weapons. This was a new direction taken by the United States in the terms of latin american involvement, but it wouldn't last. On September 11th, 1973, the United States backed a Fascist Military leader Augusto Pinochet after Chile had democratically elected President Allende. Many other Latin American nations would undergo Regime changes in their countries up until 1995, when the most recent US-Backed Regime change occurred in Haiti. The picture shown is a photograph taken of Rafael Trujillo of the Dominican Republic in 1952.
