Founding Father, American citizen, British subject, author of the Declaration of Independence, and 3rd president of the United States, Jefferson was an avid writer and promoter of equality between colonists and British subjects. He was also one of the first people to argue that Natural Rights also applied to slaves, one of the most influential supporter of the theory of "slow emancipation."
