Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher who used his observations to form ideas on how the government should be ruled. Hobbes created the idea of Absolutism, where one ruler has power over everything and everyone in order to keep everyone safe and under control. He believed that Absolutism was needed because he thought that humans are cruel and will destroy each other if there is no ultimate leader to serve the people.
