The Battle of Taierzhuang was the first major victory of the Chinese over the Japanese in World War II/ the Second Sino-Japanese War. Taierzhuang was an advantages city to capture because it was a city with strategic railroads and canal junctions, it was also made of brick which was good for defense. The Japanese overlooked thousands of farmers who were allied with the Chinese, these farmers caught off supply lines and even though supplies were still being dropped to Japanese troops via airplane, there was a supply shortage. By winning the battle, Chinese forces ruined the invincible reputation of the Japanese, and provided a huge moral boost to their people.
