Russian Minister of war Alexander Karensky launches an offensive against Austria-Hungary forces in Galicia.

The first few days into the onward attack have the result of success but soldiers soon have doubts about continuing fighting, staying in the trenches and are also encouraged by soldier committees to stop doing what the officers suggest. Many soldiers return home to see through the redistribution of land. The offence failed four days in and Russian troops had to respond to an Austrian and German counteroffensive.
