The Battles of Lexington and Concord, also called the Shot Heard 'Round the World, were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. On the colonist side, the army was led by Captain John Parker, and on the British, they were led by Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Smith. The events that led up to the battle were the Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and the Stamp Act.
