JFK served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he represented the Massachusetts 11th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives for three terms in 1947 through 1953, he also served two terms as a U.S. senator for Massachusetts in 1953 through 1960, and was the 35th president of the United States from 1961 to 1963. Before his assassination he was working on moving forward with the civil rights legislation.
