The start of the Industrial Revolution sparked an interest for people to move into urban places such as Britain to search for jobs. Most jobs available were factory jobs since the Industrial Revolution required workers to use the inventions and make sure everything was functioning. However, the factory workers were paid in very small amounts, men were paid 10 shillings a week, women 5 shillings for doing the same work as men and children received 1 shilling per week.
