Geometric and Orientalizing Art (1 ene 900 año aC – 1 ene 600 año aC)
Descripción:
Between ca. 900-600 BCE, Greek art went through two distinct phases: Geometric and Orientalizing. During the Geometric phase, which coincided with the eighth century BCE, Greek art began to feature simple silhouettes of human figures alongside other abstract motifs on vases and bronze statuettes. This period also saw the establishment of Classical Greece's city-states, the founding of the Olympic Games (776 BCE), and an increase in trade with neighboring regions. The Orientalizing phase (ca. 700-600 BCE) followed, during which Greek art was influenced by the cultures of Egypt and Mesopotamia. This period saw the introduction of Eastern monsters onto black-figure vases.
