Cryxus: Was a gladiator that worked with Spartacus.
Marcus Crassus: The Roman General that stopped Spartacus and his army. He has 30,000 men under his control.
What:
25-33% of the population are slaves. Many are gladiators made to kill each other. They have low life expectancy.
Most come from conquered countries, debt, or being born into it.
Spartacus escaped and started recruiting slaves to fight the Romans.
Rome was surprised that they fought back, instead of escaping.
As Spartacus gains power, Romans abandon their cities near him, and they cut off body parts of slaves so they couldn't fight.
They trained their army for war, in only a few months.
Spartacus gained 50,000 men and began their war with the Romans.
The Romans are still underestimating them.
He attempted to take Sicily.
Spartacus bribed pirates and merchants to travel across the sea, but General Crassus bribed them not to help him.
Spartacus fought General Crassus's army.
Spartacus was killed and his army was defeated. They crucified the slaves that weren't killed.
