Why: Why did Shi Huangdi drink mercury?
It was believed to grant immortality. They thought it purged the body of anything bad.
End: Shi Huangdi's son failed to rule and was assassinated. Then a civil war was waged and the Han dynasty was set up.
Timely: Oppressed the citizens of China. Re-centralised the states of China into an all controlling government.
Lasting: Creation of an early Great Wall of China. They also made the Grand Canal.
