What:
The government controlled all aspects of citizens' lives.
Operated on the idea of legalism.
Combined every state into a single government.
Made all regions use the same writing script, money, and weight measurements.
Created the "Straight Road" that led for 500 miles.
Shi Huangdi's tomb became famous for the statues of soldiers.

Why: Why did Shi Huangdi drink mercury?
It was believed to grant immortality. They thought it purged the body of anything bad.
End: Shi Huangdi's son failed to rule and was assassinated. Then a civil war was waged and the Han dynasty was set up.
Timely: Oppressed the citizens of China. Re-centralised the states of China into an all controlling government.
Lasting: Creation of an early Great Wall of China. They also made the Grand Canal.
