Abd al-Malik (1 ene 685 año – 1 ene 705 año)
Descripción:
Abd al-Malik was the fifth Umayyad caliph. During the beginning of his rule he fought the Byzantines for control and succeeded. In addition, he defended his empire against internal division when Ibn al-Zubayr founded a separate caliphate. In the second half of his rule, he began building monumental architecture including the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
