Who: Communist forces: North Vietnamese, Vietcong, China, Viet Cong, Khmer Rouge, Pathet Lao, Republic of China, Soviet Union, North Korea Anti-Communist : South Vietnam, US, South Korea, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand, Khmer Republic, Thailand and Kingdom of Laos

What: Due to the cost of the war it was said that president Nixon planned the Vietnamization which helped the US troops pull out gradually, with massive bombings against North Vietnam and Laos. After all the American troops left, the North Vietnamese finally conquered South Vietnam.

Where: South Vietnam, North Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, South East Asia

Why: North Vietnamese with the assistance of southern communist Vietcong, tried to take over the government in the South Vietnam, with the help of China. Fearing that Communism was spreading throughout the entire region, the US sent troops to support the South.
