Babylonian Captivity (1 ene 586 año aC – 1 ene 526 año aC)
Descripción:
The Babylonian Captivity (Babylonian Exile) was when the Hebrews were conquered by Nebuchadnezzar II. They were deported to Babylon and the First Temple was burned down marking the end of the First Temple Period. The Babylonian Captivity also marks the first Jewish diaspora. The captivity was a result of Judaean revolts at the beginning of the 6th century BCE when the Babylonians took control of Jerusalem. The Hebrews were later allowed to return to Jerusalem under the rule of Cyrus the Great.
The best literary sources about the Babylonian Exile are the books of Ezra and Nehemiah in the Bible.
