Descripción:

This war was fought for 30 years between many European countries. Known as the last religious war, the war underwent four phases that evolved from religious intentions towards more political gains.

4 Phases, Bohemian, Danish, Swedish, Franco-Swedish

Bohemian - Began with the defenestration of Prague which was caused by religious issues, the protestants generally lost this phase

Danish - The Danish and protestant king Christian IV interfered on the side of the protestants, but they were still losing

Swedish - Gustavus Adolphus and his revolutionary military tactics turned the tide of the war in favor of the protestants until his death on the battlefield. The Swedish were funded by Catholic France showing the decline of religious importance.

Franco-Swedish Phase - After the Swedish withdrew after the loss of their King, the French joined, supported by the Swedish, specifically to weaken the power of the HRE. This phase was fought entirely for political reasons.
