The rapidly expanding Arcturan Empire (based around the red giant Arcturus) staged an invasion of the Solar System, landing several troops on Earth. The resistance on Earth was incredibly fierce, and the Arcturans were forced to retreat. The war still heavily damaged the region of space, which would make the coming millennia a very difficult time.
