Boyce is important to the SBC in many different ways spending seven terms as its president. He started Southern Seminary which was important for training Southern Baptist pastors. He also was a professor at Southern during the time he served as president. He had an overall positive impact in the SBC with the exception of his support and involvement with slavery.
