Westward Movement (27 ene 1850 año – 17 nov 1859 año)
Descripción:
The Westward Movement was the populating by Europeans of the land within the continental mainland of the United States. People moved westward because of the gold rush, the cattle industry, and faster travel by rail. The opportunity to own land was made possible by the Homestead Act. Another reason for the Westward Movement was the increased population and crowding on the east coast.
