Descripción:
The Han dynasty was founded by Liu Bang in 206 BCE and was one of the longest lasting dynasties, lasting over 400 years. It adopted a confucius ideology while also copying its predecessor, the Qin dynasty, to create a highly centralized form of government which divided up the country into multiple administrative regions which were ruled by government appointed officials and developed a bureaucracy that was focused on merit instead of family ties.
The Han dynasty was a very literate society, keeping many records of the culture during the time. The first Chinese dictionary was also made during this time by a person named Xu shen.
The silk road was created during the Han dynasty when a man named Zhang Qian was sent by an emperor to make contracts to the western tribes. The route that he mapped out was used more and more, developing into an international trade route. Buddhism also came to china during this time from india.
