Bardasian (1 ene 180 año – 31 dic 219 año)
Descripción:
The Syriac Bardaisan is originally a Valentinian who crosses over to the proto-orthodox side and writes extensively to refute Marcion and others. He eventually promulgates a syncretic religion based on Babylonian astrology and Christianity, with a unique cosmogony narrating the world’s creation from a mixture of primal elements and darkness. He spreads his doctrines in the region of Syria by way of a prolific and long-lasting hymnic tradition. He was not an ascetic; he enjoyed finery and fathered a child. His teachings form a basis for Manichaeism and the later batini sects of Islam. His son Harmonius mixed Greek theology into his father’s system, while his follower Marinus held dualist and docetic beliefs.
