Germanic Invasion? (2 ene 449 año – 1 ene 610 año)
Descripción:
The transitional period between Sub-Roman England and Anglo-Saxon England. If Gildas is to be believed, the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Frisians and Franks invade and gradually conquer eastern Britannia from the Romano-Britons. The Britons are killed and enslaved, and the survivors flee to Dumnonia (Cornwall), Cambria (Wales) and Armorica (Brittany). However recent evidence suggests that there was no true invasion and the Germanic people already living in Britannia gained cultural influence; Germanic tribes from the continent then started to migrate to Britannia and the result was a Germanic cultural "takeover" of the southeastern part of the island with Romano-Britons still remaining the genetic majority.
