Odoacer establishes himself as king of the Kingdom of Italy. The Eastern emperors, however, could not accept the loss of the Western half of the “Roman Empire.” Eventually, the East encouraged the Ostrogothic king Theodoric the Great to overthrow Odoacer’s kingdom.

Since Odoacer killed the Emperor, he named himself King of the Kingdom of Italy, which the E. Emps did not like. So they encouraged the Ostrogothic King Theodoric to overthrow him, which he did
