-Caused from fallout of the seven years' war
-English raised the price of goods sold to the Natives
-English were more disruptive of native land than French (french had few numbers and never any real permanent settlements)
-English stopped paying rent on their western forts
-Ottawa war chief, Pontiac, rallied a group of tribes in the Ohio River Valley and attacked colonial outposts
-Resultant wars are known as Pontiac's rebellion/uprising
-In response, the Paxton Boys (group of Scots-Irish frontiersmen in PA murdered several natives in the Susquehannock tribe
-germ warfare was used to defeat the Ottawas (smallpox-infected blankets)
