Executive Order 9066 and Korematsu v. United States (11 oct 1944 año – 18 dic 1944 año)

Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States government chose to require Japanese-Americans to move into relocation camps for national security purposes. Executive Order 9066 was signed in February 1942 by President Roosevelt. Rather than obey the order to relocate, Fred Korematsu, a Japanese-American man living in San Leandro, chose to stay at his home. He was arrested and was convicted of violating the order, and he argued that the order violated the Fifth Amendment. He ultimately lost the case, however.
