After the assassination of Kurt Eisner socialist revolutionaries would begin a campaign of violence as a form of revenge. Despite Ernst Niekisch officially becoming interterm leader of the People's State of Bavaria the government would remain powerless until March 7th when Johannes Hoffmann (SPD) would officially become the new Minister President.
