Descripción:
Emperor Valerian resumed persecution of Christians by pinning them as scapegoats.
He sent bishops and clergy into exile and forbade Christian assemblies, along with executing many. Included in these executions were bishops Cyprian of Carthage and Sixtus II of Rome. Christians of high rank were degraded and had their property seized.
