1st Anglo-Maratha War (1 mar 1775 año – 1 mayo 1782 año)

-After the death of Madhavrao, his brother Narayanrao succeeded as 5th Peswa --> Raghunath Rao didn't like it, killed him, and assumed power
- Started with the Treaty of Surat(1775) --> Salsette and Bassain to English in return English will provide Raghunath with 2500 soldiers
- Raghunath Rao and Colonel Keating vs Hariphant Phadke in the start
- Post treaty of Wadgaon, 3 capable generals started fight with Scindia

- The Maratha army had a larger number but the English had superior ammunition and cannons

- The English surrendered and signed the Treaty of Wadgaon in 1779

- Finally the defeat of Sindhia by the British led to a peace treaty of Salbai in 1782
