Born in the Khentii Mountains inside Mongolia, Genghis Khan, who lived from 1162-1227, was able to rise from humble beginnings to create one of the largest land empires in history. He did this by uniting Nomadic tribes into one large army and using improved military tactics to conquer huge plots of lands. Once he had his empire he increased trade and other cultural aspects, by his death he still had a flourishing empire that was left to his sons.
