The Haudenosaunee emerged as a confederacy of the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga and Seneca peoples, with the addition of the Tuscarora after 1722. The confederacy reached peak political power around 1700 and spread from today's New York north into Canada, west to the Great Lakes, and south into the Ohio Valley. Sovereignty was stripped from the Haudenosaunee by Canadian and American colonization by the mid 19th century but the Six Nations peoples are still represented in multiple sovereign reservations and nations in Canada and the US.Añadido al timeline:
