The Port Arthur Massacre was an event in Australian history which involved a young man from Hobart armed himself with 3 high powered guns and a large amount of ammunition. He drove to Port Arthur, from 28th-29th of April 1996, 35 people were killed and another 23 injured.

This caused a change in the gun control laws in Australia.
