The 1857 Indian Rebellion was the biggest anti-British rebellion in history. From May 10, 1857, until July 8, 1859, This took place in Company rule in India. It was triggered by a minor modification in the weaponry employed by the men of the British East India Company. The East India Company was disbanded in favor of British direct authority in India.
