Descripción:

The duke of Alva arived with an army a year earlier to stop the disorder. In response Willem van Oranje gathered a mercanary army and atacked the Low Countries to free them. This is the start of the eighty year war.

With some truces, it officialy ended with the Peace of Munster. The Republic is accepted by Spain as its own sovereign state.
