This pandemic killed more people than what was killed in WWI, because it killed anywhere between 20 million to 40 million people. It has been known as the world worst because of the death count. At first it was thought to be like a common cold but as time went on people found out it was much more than just a simple cold. It targeted more people in the age range of 20 to 40. It was so bad that the US life span average was 10 years old. "It spread following the path of its human carriers, along trade routes and shipping lines. Outbreaks swept through North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Brazil and the South Pacific." said , Molly Billings. and later wrote, "The origins of this influenza variant is not precisely known. It is thought to have originated in China in a rare genetic shift of the influenza virus. The recombination of its surface proteins created a virus novel to almost everyone and a loss of herd immunity."
