Napoleon Controls Most of Western Europe (1804-1812) Nationalism Impact: 10 (18 dic 1804 año – 31 dic 1812 año)

Descripción:

Napoleon Controls most of Western Europe: Napoleon rose from the ranks of the French army during the French Revolution (1789-1799), took control of the French government(1799) and became the Emperor of France in 1804. Through many wars, he expanded his empire across Western and Central Europe. Although having conquered many territories, a disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812, combined with other defeats led to his exile in 1814. He returned to power in 1815 and resumed power. The Battle of Waterloo, in which Napoleon's forces were defeated by the army of the British and Prussians, signaled the end of his reign and the end of France's domination over most of Europe. After the Battle of Waterloo,Napoleon was exiled to the Island of Saint Helena and died in 1821.
Through this event French Nationalism was positively affected as people began to become very proud as Napoleon had comquered most of Europe and France had become the most country in Europe.
