Spanish-American War (21 abr 1898 año – 10 dic 1898 año)

Descripción:

Cuba belongs to Spain. Cubans revolt in 1895. 1898 McKinley sends in warship Maine because concerned about American interests. Spain blows it up and US declares war. Spain knew they couldn't win but decided to save face and fight anyway. US declares war, no, of course not for land but to protect economic interests or something. Fighting only lasted 4 months, and only 400 Americans died in battle (but 5,000 died of disease). US wins easily. Roosevelt helps out in the war, helping him become President later on.
