Born a slave, Sojourner Truth, after escaping and gaining her freedom, would go onto become one of the most influential abolitionists and equal rights activists of her time. Her crusade would earn her an audience with President Lincoln. Her work as an abolitionist and as a women's rights activist would inspire further generations to do the same.
