First Punic War (1 dic 265 año aC – 1 jun 241 año aC)
Descripción:
The First Punic War was waged to gain control of Corsica and Sicily, two strategically important islands. In 264, the Carthaginians engaged in a conflict between Messana and Syracuse, the two major cities on Sicily's east coast, and thus formed a foothold on the island. Rome won the War. As a result, Carthage had to pay for the destruction the war caused. Rome now had the power over of all of the Carthaginian lands of Sicily.
