President Carter's Human Rights Policy (1 ene 1975 año – 1 ene 1980 año)
Descripción:
President Carter departed from Nixon's realpolitik foreign policy and tried to hold pro-American dictatorial governments to a moral standard. He cut off aid to repressive regimes in Argentina, and Ethiopia. However, this policy was very inconsistent since it did not apply the same standard to South Africa, the Philippines and South Korea. Moreover, this foreign policy was abandoned when Ronald Reagan became president, and has never been invoked by a subsequent president.
