Descripción:

The New Deal and WWII and the passage of the war powers Act dramatically increased the power of the presidency. The Cold War further increased the power of the presidency also and shifted the balance of power from congress to the Executive Branch. With the spread of Communism and the increasing threat of the Cold War, Congress granted the presidency greater authority over foreign affairs and internal security.
