Whiskey Rebellion (1 ene 1790 año – 1 ene 1794 año)

Descripción:

In the early 1790's farmers that grew corn and converted it into whiskey opposed the newly imposed whisker's tax, which resulted in a rebellion in Western Pennsylvania in 1794. The U.S. constitution authorized the formation of an army by the executive branch and therefore, President Washington federalized militias and put down the rebellion with 13,000 troops. This increased executive power because Washington proved that the executive branch had the power to use military force to put down public and political dissent.
