Conflict With Native Americans (1 ene 1800 año – 1 ene 1820 año)

Descripción:

The population on the east coast continued to increase and there was less farmland available. The purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803 enabled white farmers from the East coast to migrate west where there was available land. At the same time, southern farmers also migrated west because there was too much competition with wealthy Plantation farmers in the South. This migration resulted in conflict with Indians, as Americans migrated west of the Appalachians. The significance of this event is that Indians lost or had their land drastically reduced through unjust treaties with the U.S. government and military conflicts.
